Teacher Guidelines for Internet Safety
Internet research is a wonderful opportunity for students, but safety is paramount. Before engaging students in an Internet activity, have an in-depth class discussion of Internet safety protocols and post Internet Safety information in the classroom.

The following rules will help insure your Internet safety, but please tell your teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
- Never give any personal information over the Internet. This includes your name, address, telephone number, and school name and address, as well as information about your parents, relatives, or friends.
- Immediately tell your teacher if someone online asks you for personal information.
- Never agree to get together with someone you "meet" online.
- Never send your picture to anyone you don't know.
- Never respond to a message that is vulgar or makes you feel uncomfortable. Immediately tell your teacher if you receive such a message.
- Immediately tell your teacher if anything you discover online makes you feel uncomfortable.
